Earth Hour 2023
Earth Hour is an international environmental campaign organised by the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF).
This year, for the 16th time, we are together expressing our concern for the planet by switching off the lights for 60 minutes on 25 March.
The first edition of the campaign took place in 2007 in Sydney and attracted around 2.2 million participants. Every year, WWF Earth Hour is celebrated on the last Saturday of March.
We, too, are joining the Earth Hour campaign. In addition to symbolically switching off the lights, we make a daily effort to use natural resources and electricity in a sustainable way.
Every day we recycle e-waste, protecting the environment from the disastrous effects of the release of toxins from electronic waste into the ground. We also process e-waste using our own electricity, which we produce for our needs. The roof of the Ecoport plant houses a PV power plant that produces clean renewable energy.
Our solar system has so far produced 60.5 MWh of green energy.
This means that we have reduced greenhouse gas emissions by 28.8 tonnes. This is our contribution to Earth.
